And then you won't become part of the people going to Hoopa Valley
And then, what will become some dances like the jump dance, no more (they won't be for you)!
And then they left (the people going over the hill).
And then over (the hill) to Hupa they came.
And (they built) several houses from there towards downriver and then...
"There! It looks like a fawn's face!" And then...
After awhile they called it something different.
Some said, "As for us, we will live here."
Then further downriver, finally (they came to) ta'k'imiLding.
He (the Creator) made the dances for them.
At one time they were all one people/tribe.
For that reason, a long time ago it wasn't done for Redwood Creek people to dance.
And that's how people started living in Hoopa.
Even today, we're supposed to live on this land that was made ours (given to us).
Nobody knows how we came to Hoopa (anymore).

for that reason she went off looking for work, and then way over there ...

and then where a big mountain was standing there, he [the creator] poked a hole with his finger
and then (the creator) told his helper, "right here there's going to be all kinds of animals coming out."
"and (when they come out), you're going to name them"
and then "okay" he said
and he put them down there ...
where the hole comes out, and then he said, "come on out!"
and so then he (the bear) walked off into the bushes
after a while a deer came out, and then he also cut his umbilical cord
and then all the animals kept coming out, like the squirrel
and then he cut off all of their umbilical cords
he kept on telling them, "this is what your name will be" then "your name will be tse:-q'i-ya:ng'ay (squirrel)"
then, "you will be named na:q'itah-k'iLaxun (jack rabbit)"
and then that way that's what their name became, then they went off (into the woods)
they became wild animals
and then at the very tail end, he said "come on out here!"
then it peeked out
and then again he told him, "come on out here!"
he squeezed his face so it became sharp, he did it so bad that his eyes disappeared
he twisted his poor old arms until his hands were way up high (near his shoulders)
and then after that they went around all these animals, and then coyote
him and his grandma lived there, and then
all of them they all spoke to one another

there were a lot of them going around, so that's why they all became fairy tales. and then some of them had stories told about them

and so then, the creator's helper told them what to do (how to work in order to live)
and so then they lived together that way, and then he watched after everything, he became the boss
and then in the middle of time, there were a lot of stories taking place

there were many stories told about them (the animals) But then there's a lot of animals, like grizzly bear, that have stories about them. There were a lot of them.

they have a mate. then as for him, he couldn't find a woman; there's none going around.
and then in vain he's going around everywhere
and then after a while he said "as for right now, all ...
and then they said, "you've got to make room for the people are going to be around here"
and then after a while
they said, "now the time has come, you're all going to acquire a tail" and then,
and then he said, "you will go in here", and then
"and then when morning comes, in the morning you will all wake up"
"and then you will pick up your tails"
"you'll all run off (into the woods) somewhere" and then,
and so then early in the morning they started waking up consecutively. [the night before,] Coyote thought, he looked over (all the tails)
and then he went to bed with his sticks poking up under his eyelids
in the middle of the night, I guess he was sound asleep, and the sticks poked through his eyes--his eyelids.

... they're all going to wake up, when he returns, we are waiting for him

A long time ago we were living in Hoopa, and then after awhile...
He goes to Willow Creek sometimes, then sometimes...
...he rides to the store on it, and then he always tells me, "You'll like it a lot."
I always say, "No!" After awhile he told me, "Hey, let's go down by the river."
"OK then," I thought, then I sat down in back.
Then it started moving.
It went out of the driveway onto the main road, then ...
It went down toward the river, and then it ran around on the sand with us (on it).
Then sometimes he makes it go faster, [and] it spins out in the sand.
Then we got back up [and] we laughed.
Then in spite of that it was OK.
Then I got back on.
Then, I didn't like that, "Take me home quickly," I said, "back to the house."
And then we went home.
It came back up (to the house).
Then I came back out, and he said, "Come on over here and get up (on the motorcycle)."
And then, "It's not hard (to run this thing), you sit up here," and then ...
"Then sometime maybe you'll learn it."
Then I first thought, "Ah, I'm scared of it!"
"Don't be afraid of it," he said, "you sit up here."
Then, there was a stand (to put the bike on).
