This website represents a collaboration between the Karuk Tribe and the Survey of California and Other Indian Languages, University of California, Berkeley. The Karuk dictionary (© Karuk Tribe) is the work of William Bright and Susan Gehr, with some additional computer coding by Berkeley project participants; the Karuk texts have been put into their online format at Berkeley, based on published editions by William Bright, J. P. Harrington, and others.
Current project participants include Andrew Garrett (UC Berkeley), Susan Gehr (Karuk tribal linguist), Line Mikkelsen (UC Berkeley), Ruth Rouvier (Karuk Tribe language program coordinator), Karuk master speakers, apprentices, and language learners and teachers, and graduate and undergraduate students at Berkeley.
