Notes
Labiodental fricative /v/ and labial fricative /β/ are in free variation (Chapman 347 & Dixon 10).
Dixon ignores Chapman's contrast between “[ř], a flap vibrant, and [ṛ̂], a retroflexed grooved reverse flap vibrant” (Chapman 347) on the grounds that the two vibrants “are not distinguished in the materials on P[aumari] by Chapman and Derbyshire (2004) and by Chapman and Salzer (2008), both vibrants being written as r” (Dixon 13).
