We had our organizational meeting where we decided that the theme for our readings this semester would center around adjunction and argument structure.

4 september
We will be reading Alexiadou's brief summary "Adverbs across frameworks" and Cinque's article, "Issues in adverbial syntax", both of which are in Lingua (2004 vol. 114).

11 september
We will be reading "Asymmetry, syntactic objects and the Mirror Generalization" by Rejean Canac Marquis (in Anna Maria Di Sciullo, ed. 2003. Asymmetry in grammar, volume 2: Morphology, phonology, acquisition. Amsterdam: John Benjamins).

18 september
We will be reading Fox and Nissenbaum's (1999) article "Extraposition and scope: A case for overt QR" (Proceedings of WCCFL 18).

25 september
We will read Idan Landau's recent (2007) paper "Constraints on partial VP-fronting" (Syntax 10:127-164), which can be found here.
