Note: Perhaps really a noun, 'bitterness'; cf. úx'aas 'bitterness-water', e.g. liquor - but also ishahá'uux.

  • ukêemishaheesh paxuun, uuxhêesh. The acorn soup will become poison, it will be bitter. [Reference: TK 97.41]
  • vaa tákunpiip fâat vúrava pa'úuxhaak, úux, ihêeraha kóo 'u'uux. They say that when anything tastes bad, "It's bitter, it's as bitter as tobacco." [Reference: TK 49.18]
