	They cracked acorns.

[2]	xás yáas paxúrish tá kuniyvôoraa.
	Then they put the acorn meats up (to dry).

[3]	xás tuváxrah, tá kuniyvôonih, xás tóo yvax.
	And they dried; they took them down, and they hulled them.

[4]	xás sipnúukan kunmáhyaanatih, afrúus kunfíkriiptih.
	And they put them in a storage basket, they separated out the mildewed acorns.

[5]	afrúus ásip kunmáhyaanatih.
	They put the mildewed acorns in a bowl-basket.

[6]	púyava íshaha tá kun'íthar ithákuusrah.
	They soaked them in water for a month.

[7]	kári ás tá kunturúkurihva.
	Then they put (hot) rocks in.

[8]	patóo mpúkahaak, pa'ás tá kunturúriipva.
	When (the acorns) were cooked, they took the rocks out.

[9]	xás tá kuntákir.
	And they leached (the good acorns).

[10]	paxúrish tá kuníkrav.
	They ground the acorn meats.

[11]	sáhyuux tá kuniktávar.
	They went and got sand.

[12]	xás takiríram tóo kyav.
	And they made a leaching-hole.

[13]	yáas úspaastih, tu'akíthkith.
	Then (the meal) was leached, they stirred it up.

[14]	iváxra tóo kyav.
	They made it dry.

[15]	kári xás tu'akichîip.
	Then they picked it up.

[16]	tóo thxah, páyuux tóo vyiihshur.
	They washed it, the sand came off.

	They put it in a cooking basket.

[18]	xás tutharámpuk.
	And they cooked acorn soup.

[19]	tée p ás upárishat.
	They had already heated rocks.

[20]	pa'ás utururáamnihva.
	They put the rocks in.

[21]	áama tá kunímnish.
	They cooked salmon.

[22]	koovúra imváram u'ifkóohiti pa'ásip.
	And the plate-baskets (for the salmon) fit into the soup baskets.

[23]	sikíhnuuk mûuk tá kunpátatih.
	They ate soup with spoons.
