The sweating doctor used plants and sometimes plant roots. |

púyava xás u'uhyanakôoti papírish.

And he talked to the plants. |

púyava xás ásipak tumáhyaan.

Then he put them in a bowl-basket. |

xás íshaha tóo yvaayramnih.
|
And he poured in water. |
[5] |
xás kári aséemfir tutururáamnihva.
|
Then he put in hot stones. |
[6] |
púyava xás vaa tóo páramva.
|
And he boiled them. |
[7] |
xás vaa payíkihar musúrukam tóo thríish.
|
Then he set them down underneath the sick person. |

xás váas tá kuniyxôorariv.
|
And they covered (the patient) with a blanket. |

púyava patukôohaak púyava kári pa'ánav îim tá kunpiyvêesh.
|
When he was finished, they poured the medicine on the ground, outdoors. |

káru hâari tu'ísh káakum pa'ánav.
|
And sometimes (the patient) drank some of the medicine. |
[11] |
púyava páy uum papirish'ánav kunkupeekyâahitih.
|
That’s how they made plant medicine. |
[12] |
xás pa'aneekyávaan vúra kúnish ikxaréeyav.
|
And the doctor was kind of (like) an ikxaréeyav. |
