the.Indian    3.SG    he.doesn't.say    his.child    his.name    when.he.dies   
The Indian did not say his child's name when it died.

[2] káru    vúra    koovúra    pamu'áraaras        kun'ívahaak    pupítihara    mukun'íthvuy   
also    Intensive    all    when.his.relatives    PERF    when.they.die    he.doesn't.say    their.names   
And when any of his relatives died, he did not say their names.

[3] vaa    uum    kunipíti    pitaxyárih   
that    3.SG    they.say    swearing   
That, they said, was "swearing."

[4] xás    hâari        kunipíthvuuymath    míta    pakêemish    múthvuy   
then    sometime    PERF    they.name.him.again    near.past    the.deceased.person    his.name   
Sometimes they name someone again with the name of the deceased.

Then they could still say the name, and no harm was done.

Sometimes a person just wasn't thinking, so he said the name.

Then they got angry at him and became his enemies.

Then he paid something.

Then they spoke to him again.

Sometimes he paid five dollars and sometimes ten.

Sometimes when a person was peculiar, he "swore" (on purpose).

When they told him to pay something and he refused, then sometimes a person was killed because of it.
