MAB19: The leaves of 'wehlkwenep were used "to keep a newborn baby's navel from becoming infected. A large snail's body was taken from the shell, smashed and put inside a leaf [of 'wehlkwenep]. The preparation was steamed and then held over the umbilical cord with twine. The umbilical cord would fall off and the hole would heal."
