Teaching, learning, and documenting Yurok

Lucy Thompson's 1916 To the American Indian: Reminiscences of a Yurok woman, among the first books by a Native American author, is a valuable source of Yurok words and phrases spelled using her own distinctive but logical system. Thompson later also worked with the linguist Gladys Reichard on Yurok language documentation.
